A new multi-storey block of flats could be built in North Liverpool providing dozens of new apartments.

Proposals have been submitted to Liverpool Council’s planning department for the construction of a single block up to 12 storeys high incorporating more than 60 one, two and three-bedroom flats on Naylor Street. A further two commercial units form part of the plans with a podium roof terrace also put forward by applicant Integritas Property Group (IPG).

The application site comprises a rectangular area of land bounded by Naylor Street and a proposed residential development to its immediate rear and side. There are three small scale commercial units that make up the extent of the site, that range in height from a single storey unit to two double storey units, together with various boundary wall elements that create their associated yards.

A design and access statement submitted by SNOW Architects said the site falls within the city’s Pumpfields Regeneration Zone with a series of major developments sought for the area. The planning application said the building would be forward facing onto Naylor Street with a view to creating a “distinctive, safe and pleasant, welcoming, adaptable, efficient residential complex.”

Applicant IPG said its plan form would seek to “respond to the site and the character of the surrounding area, together with the applications already approved.” The development proposals also include plans for a secure undercroft car parking provision of 35 spaces which would be accessed from Naylor Street.
