Cavendish Waters Development Update July 2025

We’re pleased to bring you the latest update from the site, where steady progress has been made over the past month. Key construction activities have moved forward across both Block A and Block B, marking important steps in the development’s overall programme.

The team continues to work efficiently to keep the project on track, and there are several significant milestones to report.

Over the page you will hear from IPG Head of Development, Ryan Guest, who visited the site earlier this week to review the progress made over the last four weeks and share his insights on the next stages of the project. We’re continuing to make steady progress across the development, with important milestones now achieved on both Block A and Block B. On Block A, we’ve now moved into the superstructure phase of the build.

Since last month’s update, piling operations have been completed, concrete foundations have been poured, and we have now commenced the blockwork.

This represents a key step forward, as we begin to construct the building’s main structure above ground level.

On the opposite side of the site, Block B has seen major groundwork activity. A reduced-level excavation has been carried out, lowering the ground by approximately 4–5 metres to  prepare for structural works. Piling on this block is now well underway and is expected to be completed by the end of this week.

Once finished, the team will begin work on the foundation pour, followed by blockwork in line with the approach taken on Block A. Running alongside these works is the installation of a retaining wall, which is being delivered in collaboration with the Canal & River Trust.

This element is essential to the structure of the site and is being managed carefully to ensure all specifications and approvals are met.

We remain focused on maintaining progress across both blocks and will be sharing further updates throughout the summer as this waterside development evolves.
