Construction has begun on the redevelopment of a grade II-listed building in Eccles to create new residential accommmodation following a £14.1m investment.
The Lyceum project, in Church Street, is being brought forward by property developer Integritas Property Group, alongside Abrey Construction.
The Old Palace Theatre building will be redeveloped into 82 affordable one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. Also included is private parking, security fob access, bike storage and two lifts, as well as easy access to tram and train lines and both the M60 and M62.
Initially the development was sold by sales company Elevace on behalf of Goodwins Construction. However works were halted when the project went into administration due to funding issues facing Goodwins.
IPG and Elavace, with managing director Mitchell Walsh at the helm, were able to retain investment and buy back the scheme from administrators.....
